Mondi launches its 2023 Integrated and Sustainable Development reporting suite

• Integrated report: Provides a clear, consistent and comprehensive overview of our financial and non-financial performance. 
• Sustainable Development report: Provides a detailed overview of our progress against the Mondi Action Plan 2030 (MAP2030), the Group’s sustainability framework. 

Highlights 

• Underlying EBITDA of €1,201 million 
• Strong cash generation with cash generated from operations increasing to €1,312 million 
• Good progress towards delivering €1.2 billion of organic growth investments  
• Return on capital employed (ROCE) of 12.8% 
• Progress towards achieving our MAP2030 sustainability commitments including:  

Circular Driven Solutions 

• 85% of our revenue is from packaging and paper products that are reusable, recyclable and compostable based on our Path to Circularity Scorecard 
• We conducted impact assessments for 1,145 products and calculated 146 Product Carbon Footprints 
• We reduced our total waste to landfill by around 50,600 tonnes. Since 2020, we have achieved a reduction of 44% in specific waste to landfill 

Empowered People  

• 503,000 hours of training were completed, including 45% of hours dedicated to safety training 
• In our 2023 Employee Survey, more than 16,800 employees providing their feedback. We achieved a 79% score in the Purposeful Workplace Index and a 77% score in the Inclusiveness index. 
• We achieved an industry leading safety performance with ac 0.64 Total Recordable Case Rate 

Taking Action on Climate 

• 22% reduction in the absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions compared with our 2019 baseline, and 4% since last year
• 21% reduction in the absolute Scope 3 emissions compared with our 2019 baseline, and 9% since last year
• 21% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions compared with our 2019 baseline, and 7% since last year
• 100% of Mondi’s fibre was responsibly sourced in 2023, with 75% FSC™ or PEFC certified with the remainder meeting the FSC Controlled Wood standard.
