20 January 2020: Leading global packaging and paper manufacturer Mondi announced today that it has successfully maintained its A- leadership rating by CDP for Climate Change.

CDP is an internationally recognised independent sustainability benchmarking platform for environmental disclosures, supporting companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation.

CDP scoring drives corporate transparency and the measurement of action on climate change. In 2019, 525+ investors with US$96 trillion in assets and 125 major purchasers with US$3.6 trillion in procurement spend requested companies to disclose through CDP and over 8,000 companies responded.

As it does each year, CDP scores all respondents from A-D, with its Leadership A List comprising companies from around the world that have been identified as leaders for their efforts and actions to address environmental risk.

Mondi was again among the respondents this year, and has been included in CDP’s leadership index (Leadership A-) for climate. This is higher than the Europe regional average of C, and higher than the paper products & packaging sector average of B.

“This leadership rating from CDP on climate is a testament both to our commitment to sustainable development by growing responsibly, as well as to reporting transparently on our strategy, management and performance,” said Gladys Naylor, Mondi Group Head of Sustainable Development.
