Norbert, our Logistics Expert

Norbert, a logistics coordinator at Mondi Bekescsaba, seamlessly blends his passion for table football (foosball) with his career trajectory, showcasing Mondi's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth.

Before joining Mondi, Norbert did not really know much about the diverse businesses but got interested when researching more on our website, quickly discovering the global scale and diverse range of activities.

It's the people! The collaborative environment and support from colleagues make every day fulfilling.

Transitioning from a warehouse worker to a logistics coordinator was a journey of discovery for Norbert. "I never anticipated the complexities of packaging production," he confesses. " Logistics covers a lot of things. the site has a 10,000-capacity warehouse in which we collect the pallets for delivery and store the incoming raw materials. We coordinate the work of a warehouse team of 15-20 people for outbound and inbound deliveries. If someone asks what I do exactly now, I usually say that my job is to organise cost-effective transport, manage and coordinate warehouse workers, and help and train my colleagues.” In his role, Norbert enjoys the autonomy to innovate while relying on his team for support.

Next to his work, Norbert is deeply involved in the sports area.

"I play Table Footbal (Foosball) I have participated in many Hungarian and foreign competitions. I am a 4 times semi-professional champion in pairs category, and I am currently one of the top 15 players on the national ranking list with PRO classification. We have an association here in my hometown, where in addition to preparing for competitions, I also deal with the training of the younger generation.”

Challenges are a part of the journey in any career, and Norbert's biggest test was assuming a mentorship role early on. "Shortly after I started working as a logistic coordinator, my mentor chose other paths and after finishing my own training, I quickly needed to mentor someone else."

Looking ahead, Norbert is excited to continue achieving his goals.

I aspire to continue organising more cost-effective transports and to learn as much as possible about SAP and Logistics. A lot of things are possible, if you work with a great and supportive team.
