Mondi debuts at LUXE PACK Shanghai 2025 with sustainable papers for luxury packaging

• Mondi is presenting its high-quality papers PERGRAPHICA^®, IQ BOARD and IQ GRASS + PACKAGING papers for sustainable packaging of luxury items at Stand D25 during LUXE PACK Shanghai from 9 to 10 April 2025.
• The latest addition to the PERGRAPHICA^® portfolio is a grammage specifically developed for perfume packaging: 350 g/m², now available for PERGRAPHICA^® Classic Rough and PERGRAPHICA^® Natural Rough.
• Mondi's paper range can further support sustainability efforts of companies in the luxury segment.

Mondi, a global leader in packaging and paper, premieres at Luxe Pack in Shanghai, showcasing its broad portfolio of sustainable paper for high-quality luxury packaging. At Stand D25 from 9 to 10 April 2025, Mondi, alongside its partner ROXCEL Trading, will showcase how paper packaging can support the sustainability efforts of branded goods manufacturers in the luxury segment.

The boutique-style LUXE PACK trade show at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, unique in Asia, is the perfect meeting place for brand owners in cosmetics, fragrance, wine & spirits, fine food, home goods, and tech, as well as converters, material suppliers and service providers across the entire value chain.

Commitment to sustainability without compromise

Sustainability is increasingly seen as a significant focus in the luxury market. Mondi recognises this and has established an ambitious sustainability framework with Mondi Action Plan 2030 (MAP2030) which sets out the actions, targets and milestones the Group needs to achieve to meet its 2030 sustainability commitments. Mondi papers, ideal for luxury packaging, are produced at the Austrian paper mill at Mondi Neusiedler using pulp from sustainably managed forests. All Mondi paper brands produced in Austria and Slovakia are Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Bronze level, ensuring adherence to circular economy principles. Mondi also holds Platinum status in EcoVadis’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ratings, placing the Group among the top 1% of global companies assessed.

PERGRAPHICA^® design papers for a touch of luxury

Mondi’s uncoated paper portfolio delivers on optics and haptics, consistent printing quality and outstanding performance on a variety of applications. At the Mondi stand D25, brand owners can find out about the possibilities offered by the PERGRAPHICA^® range, for example, to convey their brand identity through its special look, feel and colour scheme. PERGRAPHICA^® ensures a lasting effect. Even the first touch is an experience for the senses. The range of visual effects extends from striking to elegant.

PERGRAPHICA^® delivers consistently high print quality suited for special finishing techniques such as hot foiling, embossing and laser engraving. It also boasts excellent converting properties, including impeccable creasing and folding. PERGRAPHICA^® includes three shades of white with excellent colour reproduction. Additionally, there are 31 delicate, saturated, or dark colours available, with grammages ranging between 90 and 400 g/m ². The most recent addition to the portfolio is a grammage specifically required for perfume packaging: 350 g/m² available for PERGRAPHICA^® Classic Rough and PERGRAPHICA^® Natural Rough.

IQ BOARD: premium quality for premium products  

IQ BOARD, an uncoated premium virgin fibre board, is also an interesting option for packaging applications. It is ideal for highlighting the contents of luxury items, cosmetics and high-quality hygiene products. IQ BOARD is optimised for smooth processing during printing, finishing and filling. The smooth, natural feel emphasises striking packaging designs. It is available in the shades of high white and ivory, with grammages from 250 to 400 g/m².

IQ GRASS + PACKAGING conveys a unique first impression

In Shanghai, Mondi is  showcasing a unique-looking packaging paper: IQ GRASS + PACKAGING, which can be printed in high quality not only by flexographic printing technology but also using offset printing in all grammages. This paper, made from up to 30% style grass fibres combined with FSC™ or PEFC-certified fresh fibres, is a real eye-catcher. The raw materials used give the paper a unique structure and fibre appearance. Each sheet has its own grain, making every package unique. Available in grammages between 80 and 350 g/m², IQ GRASS + PACKAGING can be finished with hot foil stamping and embossing for a high-quality feel.
