Mondi Swiecie's sport charity challenge in Poland

Our Świecie mill’s ‘We are Mondi. Active helpers’ sports charity challenge encouraged employees to learn about how to improve their health and wellbeing, while supporting the creation of a recreation area for mentally ill children and youth at the local hospital and improving a kindergarten playground.

A dedicated mobile phone-based app encouraged more than 300 employees to participate in sports activities that totalled over 150,000km of running and cycling. For every 10km cycled, the mill donated PLN 2 and for every 10km run, PLN 6 was donated. In total, PLN 30,000 (€6,600) was raised to support the charity goal while raising awareness of the importance of mental health and a healthy lifestyle through dedicated webinars for employees.

Also in 2022, Mondi Świecie continued to focus on sports charity activities encouraging young people to be more active. This included a sports competition for 12 local kindergartens; a physical education class for school girls with a Polish Olympic swimmer; and sponsoring a summer football camp for local children.
