Mondi SCP at the biggest private employer in the region intensively cooperates with the Secondary Polytechnic School in Ruzomberok

Mondi SCP representatives welcomed 29 students from the branches of study Electrotechnician and Mechanic of machinery and equipment who will be able to gain practical experience under the supervision of experienced workers directly in the plant.

Ruzomberok, 11 October, 2017 – Recently, Mondi SCP representatives welcomed 29 students – third and fourth-year students from the branches of study Electrotechnician and Mechanic of machinery and equipment. Students will have the opportunity to acquire practical skills directly in the production operations under the supervision of experienced Mondi SCP colleagues. "In addition to our employees, their mentor will take care of them during the school year as well and gradually acquaint them with all areas of the mill. This person will also educate them in the pulp and paper production and explain them in more detail about the processes. During the school year, the practical knowledge will thus be combined with the theoretical one which they will be able to make good use of it the future, "added Mrs. Keyzlarova.

Before starting to gain their professional experience, each student will receive a package with all the necessary protective equipment and clothing. Additional motivation for the students will also be remuneration for the worked hours. There will also be some other additional social benefits and possibility of continuing to work during the summer period within the Students Summer Work scheme. "We are very happy that, in this way, we are supporting the development and education of young people. It is up to them, whether they want to work on themselves and to educate themselves in their branch of study. Skilled students with a positive and responsible approach to work, who successfully complete their studies, will always be welcomed in our company. We would therefore like to wish these students a lot of success in their studies," added Ivana Keyzlarova, Human Resources Manager at Mondi SCP.

Mondi SCP and the Secondary Polytechnic School also jointly requested the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic for opening a special branch of study – Mechatronics - with the possibility of applying the knowledge gained in the Ruzomberok mill. This school year, already the second-year students have started a school year of the new branch of study. These students will be able to gain professional experience right in the mill premises already next year.
