DFTA Award

‘Compete. Join in. Take a chance.’ Under this motto, all DFTA members were invited in 2015 to submit their most outstanding flexo-printed packaging that is setting the benchmarks of the future and thereby contributing significantly to the desirability of printed packaging.

The DFTA Award is a strong testament to the performance of companies across the entire supply chain – printers, prepress, suppliers – in short, everyone involved in flexo printing.

The DFTA trade association wishes in particular to draw attention to the high level of innovation, quality and performance in this sector. The yearly announcement of the award sends a clear signal where it matters: to the industry, to the customer market and as an incentive for the companies themselves.

The jury chose Mondi Halle’s ‘Real Nature Wilderness Adult’ design as the winner in the category of ‘flexible packaging (film/paper/foil)’ with the words, “A real head-turner in every aspect of printing technology. Absolutely flawlessly printed and equipped with the most demanding features, this entry has unequivocally won its category like no other winner. A clear candidate for the best-in-show title. Unrivalled in flexo!”

“Such a result is indicative of the company’s considerable development in the last two years in cooperation with our customer and pre-press service provider Flexicon We are proud to have received this prestigious award, which is a wonderful acknowledgment of our successful joint product development”, states Markus Wielens, Managing Director Mondi Halle. “Due to the complexity and quality requirements, especially concerning the challenging printing design Mondi Halle was chosen to carry out such packaging concept.” The ‘Real Nature’ pet food packaging is printed in Halle in 8-colour HD flexo with 150 lpi. The finished reels are converted into FlexZiBox with a top slider at our plant in Steinfeld.
