Get to know Cagri! Our summer intern at Mondi Eschenbach.
Cagri is from Izimir (Turkey) and came to Eschenbach to start his summer internship at our site. He usually studies materials science and engineering at Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir and therefore wanted to gain practical experience in that field.
How did you come up with the idea of an internship at Mondi?
I have heard a lot about the Mondi because there is also a production site in the town where my family lives. It was always my plan to work as a materials engineer in Germany. That's why I applied to Mondi to get to know the corrugated cardboard industry. After my job interview in Turkey, I was accepted for an internship at Mondi Eschenbach, which I am very happy about.
What would you like to learn at mondi Eschenbach?
I find the testing of corrugated cardboard, production processes, planning phases, purchasing and sales departments and product development phases very interesting. A great additional learning is also getting to know a different culture in the workplace, as well as privately.
What are your plans after you return to Turkey?
I will continue my studies for another year and hopefully graduate successfully. My plan is to continue my studies later on in Germany or Austria by starting an MBA and learning German.
What do you like best about Germany?
I appreciate the systematic and orderly structure, everything seems very organised. Furthermore, the history and architecture of the cities are very impressive.
What do you do in your free time?
As for my hobbies, I play in the university football team and am a theater player in Izmir Municipality.
I like to travel and try different dishes, so I try to visit many cities in Europe during my internship this summer.
