Justin completed his training as a packaging technologist with us. In an interview, we asked him about his training at Mondi.
Interview
Introduce yourself
Why did you apply to Mondi?
Justin: An acquaintance recommended Mondi to me and said it would be the perfect company for this training.
Which department or activity do you like the most so far?
Justin: During my training I was already very interested in the WPA. This is the machine that makes our corrugated cardboard. After I was trained there, I was given more freedom and was allowed to take on tasks on the machine myself. I also quickly warmed up to the team at the machine and no longer want to be without my work colleagues, who helped me a lot during my training.
Which of our benefits do you think are the best?
Justin: I don't want to lie, the vacation and Christmas bonuses and the 30 days of vacation are some of the best benefits at Mondi. Directly followed by further training opportunities. I'll have new training on my machine soon.
What do you like about the Mondi Bad Rappenau location?
Justin: I specifically think the cohesion at our location is great. No matter what situation someone is in, their superior will stand up for you and ensure that you get support as quickly as possible. You will always be listened to and taken seriously.
How was your interview? Do you have any tips for applicants?
Justin: My interview was very relaxed, but I also gathered a lot of information about the location and Mondigroup.
Be sure to read carefully, have a lot of information and be very interested in the company. It would also be an advantage if you look good on the day of the interview. Come neatly dressed, but not overdressed. My top tip is to approach the matter in a relaxed manner and it will be fine.
Which vocational school did you attend and what requirements do you have to meet for the vocational school?
Justin: The vocational school is in Stuttgart and there are block lessons there. It would be an advantage for teaching there if you have good spatial thinking and are interested in understanding the machines. It would also be very good if you were disciplined and didn't allow yourself to be distracted by classmates. Perseverance is also very important!
What requirements do you need to have a good education here?
Justin: You should accept other cultures and be flexible and adaptable. It can happen that the training plan changes and you have to adapt to a different department. You should also be a team player, because only teamwork makes the dream work.
