Your mission:
The Tender Manager Central Europe (f/m/x) will be responsible for managing and overseeing the tendering process across a designated region within the corrugated packaging industry. This role requires expertise in preparing competitive bids, analyzing tender requirements, and ensuring compliance with client specifications while maximizing profitability and securing long-term contracts.
(This position will report to the Sales Director Central Europe)
- Lead the end-to-end tender process, including bid preparation, pricing strategies, and submission.
- Analyze tender documents and client requirements to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tender documents in compliance with client specifications.
- Manage tenders across the assigned region, ensuring consistency and alignment with regional sales and business objectives.
- Work closely with regional sales teams and key account managers to gather necessary information and insights for tenders.
- Develop pricing models that balance competitiveness with profitability.
- Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to accurately calculate costs and margins.
- Conduct post-tender reviews with sales teams and clients to gather feedback and improve future tender submissions.
- Ensure all tenders comply with legal, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with tender submissions and contract execution.
- Work closely with finance, production, supply chain, quality assurance, sustainability teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with tender requirements.
- Coordinate with marketing for supporting materials and technical teams for product specifications.
- Prepare regular reports on tender activity, success rates, and financial impact for senior management.
- Analyze tender outcomes to refine strategies and improve future bid success rates.
- Support further development of the regional tender management process together with sales leads, finance and plant calculations teams to foster best practices and improve and develop the processes and tools.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in tender management or sales within the packaging industry, with at least 3 years in the corrugated packaging sector.
- Strong understanding of the tendering process and packaging industry dynamics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good technical understanding on process and materials
- Strong communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and tender management systems and tools.
- Financial acumen and experience with cost analysis and pricing strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Language: Being fluent in English and German
- Willigness to travel within the region.
