Your mission:

  • Identify, evaluate and propose and bench opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and customer value proposition
  • Research ideas for process optimization and co- ordinate resources to design and develop value added solutions
  • Facilitate the implementation of continuous improvement projects
  • Support effective implementation and commissioning of solutions aimed at optimizing performance capacity
  • Plan, co-ordination and report on process trials
  • Manage projects from inception to implementation
  • Facilitate Capex development, implementation and the procurement of required resources
  • Participates in root cause or other analyses and proposes appropriate corrective measures
  • Record lessons learned and develop best practices for knowledge management purposes
  • Ensure compliance to the OHS Act and other legal requirements and maintain ISO system requirements as needed
  • Assist with technical solutions to Safety and Environment issues
  • Conducts HAZOPs/Risk Assessments as required to highlight risks associated with certain operations
  • Recommends and audits control measures for permit and legal compliance related to process plant and environment 
  • Assist in Mill and Plant shutdowns as requested
  • Assists with general management duties as requested
  • Custodian of the Quality System including investigate internal and external quality complaints
  • Benchmarking and aligning with best practices
  • Budget, fixed and Variable cost control

Your profile:

  • BTech / BSc / BEng Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Tertiary education in the industry specific discipline
  • Project Management and relevant Problem-Solving training advantageous
  • Experience in high-speed processing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operation
  • Project management and optimisation work advantageous
