The Site HR Manager is the HR leader responsible for our paper bags plant and its ~90 employees. The Site HR Manager plays a key role in fostering a positive & productive culture, build an environment of trust and accountability, and deliver HR excellence and process improvement. This role is the primary point of contact for the managers and employees and provides expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and performance and talent management, talent development and learning, compensation, conflict management, employee relations and leadership coaching. The Site HR Manager executes the HR strategy in support of the client’s business objectives and the Mondi HR strategy & objectives and is a connected partner for the site’s leadership team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strong functional partner to the Site MD and to drive cohesive decision-making, foster collaboration, and drive the development and execution of key HR initiatives that align with business goals and Mondi HR strategy
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate
  • Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; escalates concerns beyond their scope to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Plant MD, HR Business Partners/Country HR Leaders and HR CoE professionals to drive a cohesive and aligned HR agenda and execute business-specific HR strategies
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
  • Lead key HR processes including performance, talent management, Payroll & compensation planning, onboarding,Hiring,Training & development new manager assimilation etc.
  • Partner with Country/region HR leader and HR CoE’s to align on and execute relevant HR projects or initiatives as needed across multiple client groups at site
  • Provide guidance and leadership for all union/works council relations and ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved
  • Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly and consistently with local laws and regulations and our company compliance regulations 
  • Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care
  • Overall responsibility includes communication responsibility of the site.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in a Human Resources related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in a client support HR role preferably in an industry environment
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources client support role
  • Sound knowledge of union/employee relations and works council management as well as local labor laws and government requirements
  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience
  • Hands-on self-starter who has a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and work independently while being able to effectively navigate and partner in a matrix environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills
  • Passionate, employee advocate who wants to make a difference in the organization by helping employees succeed
  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels
  • Strong customer service focus, with a high level of responsiveness

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
