Senior Data Scientist (f/m/x)

Your mission:

Mondi’s Digital Excellence team (DX) drives maximum value by applying advanced analytics, machine learning and AI to business & operational data in the packaging & paper industry. We develop scalable solutions through strong internal & external partnerships to strengthen the competitive advantage of Mondi. We encourage and promote excellence through innovation, creativity and commitment.

• As part of an open-minded and curious team, you will develop digital solutions for our global Business Units – from conceptualisation, to modelling, and finally to integrated implementations.
• You will work in cross-functional international teams consisting of other colleagues of Mondi DX as well as domain experts from our respective business Units, paper mills and converting plants. 

Your profile:

• Hold a BSc/MSc/PhD in a related field such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 6+ years of proven experience in building data science models and products in business and/or academic context (preferably manufacturing)
• Hands-on experience executing Machine Learning/Computer Vision projects with large real-world datasets. 
• Ability to translate challenges in manufacturing into analytical solutions.
• Excellent applied skills in Python, additional knowledge on R of advantage 
• Experience in the following is considered an asset:
  • SQL databases
  • Version control and deploying machine/deep learning models in production
  • Time series modelling and/or optimization methods 
  • Development of solutions in cloud environment (Azure / AWS)
• Good presentation and communication skills, explaining complex analytics concepts to a diverse set of clients, end users and colleagues at all levels
• Comfortable in an agile international working environment, enjoys being part of a team
• Willing to travel up to 30%
• Fluent in English; German or other languages would be desirable

• We offer a compensation starting at € 55.000 gross/year on a full-time basis (38 hours/week), depending on your experience, skills and qualification.
