Your mission:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Steam Fitter / Pipe Fitter to join our maintenance team at Mondi Group Inc, a leading pulp and paper mill. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that are critical for mill operations, including steam, air, process water, and chemical lines. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, safety-focused environment to ensure that all piping and steam systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards.
- Fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems for steam, water, chemicals, and other materials based on blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of piping systems to identify and diagnose issues, including leaks, corrosion, support systems, or damage.
- Troubleshoot issues related to steam generation and distribution, high-pressure piping, and auxiliary systems.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, comply with regulatory standards (ABSA), and maintain accurate records of inspectionincluding.
- Support the mill's expansion and optimization projects by designing, modifying, and installing piping layouts as needed.
Your profile:

- Journeyman certification as a Steam Fitter/Pipe Fitter. Included Red seal is Preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a pulp and paper mill or heavy industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of high-pressure steam systems, welding techniques, and pipe fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and piping diagrams.
- Familiarity with provincial and federal safety regulations, including WHMIS, confined space, and high-pressure piping standards (ABSA).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices for piping systems.

- 4 days / 10 hours shift pattern, Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday.
- Compensation according to the rates agreed between the mill and the local union.
