Your mission:

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for people leaders to provide counsel, coaching and support on HR fundamentals. You will execute our key HR processes and initiatives in alignment with Mondi’s HR strategy, providing available and responsive internal employee support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. As the Regional HR manager for Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Oman, you partner with the Region MD Paper Bags and the business leadership team and provide leadership and day-to-day guidance to 5+ HR professionals at 6 paper bags plants supporting ~370 employees in the region, including:

  • Act as trusted HR Business Partner for the Regional Managing Director Middle East, as well as local Managing Directors forging strong relationships providing leadership coaching for an inspiring, engaging, inclusive and empowering and accountable work environment
  • Lead a team of 5+ HR professionals, drive strong HR team engagement and own their growth & development including re-/upskilling the team in line with Mondi HR Strategy and requirements of their roles
  • Lead regional senior leaders through critical HR operating rhythms such a performance and talent management and development, succession planning, salary planning etc. ensuring right talent in right roles, accelerating growth of our strongest talent or developing/upgrading, and ensuring robust succession plans in place for critical roles
  • Develop and drive strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent in partnership with the HR team
  • Strengthen regional employer branding activities to attract key skills in the market and serve as hiring HR-Manager for the recruitment and onboarding of  senior roles within the region
  • Communicate a clear, accurate understanding of HR KPIs and metrics (e.g., culture & engagement survey, succession bench metrics, attrition, and other cascaded key performance indicators) to the business and provide insights and strategic direction on how to use them to grow the business, deliver results and drive continuous HR improvement
  • Provide strategic and practical, hands-on support to the Leadership and HR team and focal for escalations for all matters linked to employee relations including compensation practices, organizational effectiveness, union avoidance, and maintaining integrity across the site
  • Ensure data accuracy in HRIS system and manage or supervise transactional HR services, including compensation & benefits, contracting, legal matters, payroll, mobility & expatriation timely and accurately
  • Lead and coordinate Mondi HR projects and initiatives and ensure regional HR priorities are aligned with the Regional Managing Director and the HR Business Partner and executed well
  • Lead and be accountable for all union/works council relations and handle employee relations issues transparently
  • Provide expert knowledge in all HR related matters to people leaders and guide the local HR team
  • Identify and drive HR synergies in the region, streamline redundant HR processes, in line with the Mondi HR strategy
  • Drive HR compliance and ensure all HR matters are handled fairly and consistently with local laws and regulations and our company compliance regulations  

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a Human Resources related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in an HR Manager role preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in all HR relevant processes, across the employee lifecycle, including organizational development
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with a track record of successfully coaching and guiding leaders and HR professionals
  • Hands-on self starter who has a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and work independently while being able to effectively navigate and partner in a matrix environment 
  • Excellent knowledge of the relevant local laws and regulations 
  • Fluent in Arabic and English written and spoken, any other languages are considered a plus 
  • Willingness to travel up to 50 %
