Role Summary:
The Group Head of Total Rewards will lead the development and execution of Mondi’s global total rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives. This pivotal role requires a strategic visionary with deep expertise in designing and implementing innovative, equitable, and competitive reward programs that attract, motivate, and retain top-tier talent across diverse international markets.
Key responsibilities include the end-to-end oversight of compensation, benefits, and recognition frameworks, leveraging advanced analytical capabilities and current market insights to inform and optimise our offerings. The role demands strategic engagement and seamless collaboration with senior leadership, HR partners, and external stakeholders to promote best practices and align reward initiatives with Mondi’s values and long-term growth objectives.
Success in this role involves fostering a high-performance culture by establishing fair, transparent, and motivating reward structures that reinforce employee engagement and drive performance. Additionally, the Group Head of Total Rewards will act as a thought leader, influencing global reward strategies and nurturing key partnerships internally and externally to elevate Mondi's competitive positioning in the global talent landscape. The ultimate goal is to craft a compelling value proposition that supports our diverse workforce and solidifies Mondi's reputation as an employer of choice.
Your Mission and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the Reward function and ensure it is well-organised, resourced, and skilled, developing and coaching team members to grow in their careers
- Collaborate with the Board, Executive Committee, and the HR leadership team to develop and execute a global reward strategy, fostering a high-performance culture
- Lead the design and implementation of a global job architecture framework including grading, salary, bonus structures and equity structure for the different target groups, and guide their execution including digitisation of reward data and processes
- Accountable for the management and governance of the annual reward review processes, including salary reviews and bonus outturns
- Close collaboration with Head of Executive Reward to develop and govern policies for senior leaders, including long-term Incentive plans, and ensure governance for performance share plans
- Review the current variable incentive compensation landscape to assess effectiveness and evaluate opportunities for improvement to ensure they are performance driven, market competitive, appropriately leveraged and accurately administered
- Lead all reward matters as a consequence of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
- Ensure that Mondi’s all employee reward is compliant with the legislation in each country in which Mondi operates. In particular our obligations to remain compliant with gender pay legislation, and associated reporting disclosures (internally and externally)
- Create and govern benefit plans (pensions, medical, employee assistance programs) to attract and retain talent
- Manage financial planning and budgeting for Group Total Rewards, monitoring progress and defining action plans
- Own the relationship with market data providers, reward consultants and other key external partners
- Be an active member of Mondi’s HR Leadership team, representing the Total Rewards functional expertise and champion our HR strategy and priorities through the ongoing transformation and be a strong advocate for the change

Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration/Management from an accredited university or college
- Min. 15 years of total rewards experience ideally in global, industrial corporations with production and office workforce
- Min. 10 years of experience leading a global total rewards team in global industrial corporations of similar size and complexity
- Track record of defining and implementing a total rewards strategy and operationalising the same impactfully
- Team player with a track record of successful transformations within Reward functions
- Deep knowledge of global performance and rewards best practices, trends, and regulations
- Experience managing executive compensation and equity plans in a globally operating environment
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to and energise and lead cross-functional teams and prioritise competing demands
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence & engage stakeholders at all levels and geographies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions
- Keen learner with a strong interest to understand business, market/customers, financials and a strong external network
- Hands-on self-starter capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
- Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others
- Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
